Elsa FabbrettOne of my main interests is the study of integrated tissue responses in chronic pain conditions, especially focused on ATP signaling. The main question is how to disclose key molecular switches responsible of irreversible transitions of sensory ganglia from a healthy basal to a disease one. One emerging hypothesis is that enhanced released of soluble mediators predisposes to abnormal neuron-glia crosstalk and neuro-inflammation processes. Our work aims to delineate the biochemical effects downstream ATP sensing on neuronal and glial cell models, with a special emphasis in the validation of new interfering methods with last generation drug-targeting approaches.
